Blarney Stone Broadcasting assumed ownership of the three stations based in Grayling, MI in October 2012 and within two years, have become a profitable, viable broadcasting leader in the region.  In November 2016, Blarney Stone Broadcasting, Inc., entered into a Local Marketing Agreement (LMA) with Northern Broadcast, Inc., pending final FCC Sale of six FM stations including 92.5 WFDX (100,000 watts) / 94.3 WFCX (20,500 watts), Fox Music Radio; 97.5 WKLT (32.000 watts) / 98.9 WKLZ (100,000 watts), KLT The Rock Station; 105.5 WSRJ (17,000 watts) / 106.7 WSRT (100,000 watts), ESPN Northern Michigan.  Blarney Stone Broadcasting, Inc., operates all six LMA stations plus four major northern Michigan websites including wklt.com, 943thefoxfm.com, espnupnorth.com and q100michigan.com.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Blarney Stone Broadcasting, Inc., has an immediate opening for an Sales Assistant in Grayling and/or Traverse City, Michigan. This position provides administrative support to the Sales Department as well as the entire team. 

KEY ACTIVITIES

• Provides support in sales administration, generates sales-related reports, and acts as an extension of the sales team.
• Provides administrative and/or process support for contract administration, customer service and order history.
• Acts as an extension of the sales team by assisting with sales material creation, order entry, production entry, sponsorship proposals and recaps. 
• Generates contract confirmations, reports related to sales activities & revenue data including payment report and A/R.
• Responds to client requests, e.g., spot times.
• Responsible for shipping/receiving of UPS/FedEx/DHL mail and dropping off the daily mail at the Post Office (if convenient)
• Assist in the monthly billing/invoicing process.
• Filing of order entry and production orders.
• Answer phones, greet people coming into the lobby, may facilitate listener prizes and other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Team-oriented and excel in a multi-tasking environment. Must be a self-starter who requires little or no supervision.
• Superior organizational skills, excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deadlines with minimal supervision
• Actively listens; clearly and effectively conveys information; uses professional telephone skills; demonstrates effective business writing skills; shows excellent grasp of grammar
• Adapts to shifts in priorities and urgencies with a professional demeanor and understanding of business
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have excellent typing skills.
• Assumes responsibility & accountability for assignments and tasks

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma required
• Some College (in Business or Accounting) preferred.
