CAMP GRAYLING 2021 RANGE REPORTS
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GRAYLING - This week, all exterior roads and trails are open for public use as all activity during Winter Strike will be conducted inside the fence. However, A-10 Aerial Gunnery continues on Range 40 and will increase significantly during the National Guard Bureau's "Winter Strike" which is January 20th through the 31st. All gates on the outer fence (northern half of the Aerial Range) will be closed through the 31st. Noise will be most noticeable on January 21st as well as January 24th-28th. Over 500 troops will be in attendance. Winter Strike brings together service members from several states and partner forces at Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center and Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center. Together these locations comprise the National All-Domain Warfighting Center, where trainees experience subarctic conditions to prepare to meet arctic strategy objectives. Expect both increased foot and vehicle traffic during this training activity as well as snowmobiles.
If you happen to be ice fishing on Lake Margrethe Monday, January 24th, you may catch some of the troops taking a bit of an "ice bath" today. BURR
