SUNDAY - JULY 11

 

8:00 a.m. Alpenfest Street Sweep - Everyone is invited to bring a broom, meet downtown and spruce up the streets for Alpenfest! The area to be swept is from North Center Avenue to the railroad tracks.

 

TUESDAY - JULY 13

 

9:00 a.m. Gather for the walking parade under the Pavilion this year - Mingle with friends and family. Take pictures of everyone in their Alpenfest finest.
 

9:30 a.m. Awards presentation - Jacket presentation to the Der Buergermeister and Parade Marshall, Dar Award, Patti Dobrzewski Edelweiss Award and the Pam Duczkowski Unsung Hero Award. Introduction of the current 2020 Alpenfest Queen Chanelle Beach.

 

10:00 a.m. Alpenfest Walking Parade - Come dressed in your finest Swiss Alpenfest Attire for the annual Walking Parade. Parade originates at the Pavilion this year. Awards presented to best dress male, female, children and family. The parade will follow a new route this year and return to the Pavilion to enjoy the sounds of Gaylord Alpine Band.
 

11:00 a.m. Wurst Wagon - Delicious hot dogs and chips sponsored and served up hot and fresh by our finest Michigan State Police Officers. Free with Alpenfest pin under the Pavilion.
 

1:00 p.m. Carnival and Alpenstrasse Opens
 

6:00 p.m. Official opening of Alpenfest 2021 - Willkommen by Mayor Bill Wishart. Introduction of Der Buergermeister, Parade Marshall, along with Dar, Patti Dobrzewelski Pontresina and Pam Duczkowski Unsung Hero Award winners. Introducing the 2021 Alpenfest Pin Design Winner. Introduction of 2021 Alpenfest Queen Claire Giling and honoring 2019 & 2020 Queen, Chanelle Beach. Gary Waldo performs on the AlpHorn.

 

6:15 p.m. Erin Zindle & The Ragbirds - Erin Zindle is the songwriter, fiddler, and leader of the nationally –touring folk- rock band Erin Zindle & The Ragbirds. With a genre-bending hybrid of indie-pop melodies, global-infused beats, rock guitar riffs, conscious lyrics and virtuosic fiddling, Erin Zindle  & The Ragbirds deliver something that’s hard to define. Their music is equally danceable, intelligent and vulnerable – a rare combination in an increasingly marketing-driven industry.
 

9:00 p.m. Burning of the Boog - Put your troubles on paper, slip them inside the Boogg and watch them go up in smoke. Trouble slips are located at the base of the Pavilion and gathered throughout the evening.

 

WEDNESDAY - JULY 14 Q 100 ONSITE 11am-1pm at CRAVE

 

11:00 a.m. Carnival and Alpenstrasse opens - Kids Day at the Carnival. Special pricing all day.

 

12:00 p.m. Rosco the Clown and Tommy Tropic together on stage - performing their act on the Pavilion Stage. Juggling, magic, balloon sculpting and more. Fun for the entire family and children of all ages.

 

12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Alpine Regional Tennis Association (ARTA) offers tennis on the Strasse for young people. Located at the Pavilion, all equipment will be provided for kids to have free tennis fun.
 

1:00 pm Kenny Thompson performs on the Pavilion - An afternoon of pure listening enjoyment as Kenny Thompson hits the stage taking you down memory lane, as well as introducing to you some of his own newer music. Sit back and relax, and enjoy an afternoon of music under the Pavilion.
 

6:00 p.m. 50 Amp Fuse-Main Stage Entertainment - Fifty Amp Fuse is an award-winning American rock Band formed in 2004. The Detroit based group has earned a reputation for thrilling audiences in many cities all across the USA delivering recent hits while serving as a Tribute act to the greatest artists of all time.

 

 

THURSDAY - JULY 15  Q 100 ONSITE 8am-10am at Greystone Coffee

12:00 p.m. Rosco the Clown and Tommy Tropic together on stage - performing their act on the Pavilion Stage. Juggling, magic, balloon sculpting and more. Fun for the entire family and children of all ages.

 

12:30 p.m. Registration for Alpenfest Idol
 

1:00 p.m. Alpenfest Idol preliminary round-Pavilion Stage-Gaylord’s version of American Idol

6:00 p.m. Your Generation in Concert-Pavilion Stage - Your Generation in Concert is a live multimedia spectacular celebrating 5 decades of pop, rock, dance and R&B hits. Simply put, this 8 –piece band is the world’s finest tribute show. Your Generation in Concert transports the audience on a musical tour through the soundtrack of their lives with outstanding musicianship and remarkable vocals. The group has shared stages with the Billy Joel Band, Sheryl Crow, Lenny Kravitz and more. Your Generation in Concert is timeless and intergenerational, playing music as diverse as its audience.

 

FRIDAY - JULY 16 Q 100 ONSITE  3pm-6pm at Iron Pig Smokehouse

1:00p.m. Alpenfest Idol Finals - Cheer on those who made it past the semi-finals and see who takes home the
trophy for this year’s Alpenfest Idol Contest.

6:00 p.m. Kenny Chesney & Carrie Underwood Tribute Band
 

SATURDAY - JULY 17 Q 100 ONSITE 12pm-2pm at Alpine Tavern
9:00 a.m. Alpenfest 5 K Run-Pavilion
11:00 a.m. Carnival and Alpenstrasse opens
1:00 p.m. Gaylord Community Band - The Gaylord Community Band is composed of musicians of all ages from around
the Gaylord, Michigan area. The band has held many concerts throughout the area, and you might them performing under the Pavilion on any given night throughout the summer months. Among the bands traditions are the performance of “Edleweiss,” the city song
of Gaylord at the end of each concert. The Gaylord Community Band is thrilled to return to the Alpenfest stage for your listening enjoyment.

 

6:00 p.m. Simply Queen Concert-Pavilion Stage - Simply Queen performs all the iconic songs that made Queen one of the most legendary rock bands of all time, and faithfully recreates the grand scope of Queen’s live shows, both musically and visually. The band pays attention to detail, capturing the live amazing live Queen experience that filled stadiums around the world. A concert that is “Guaranteed to Blow Your Mind”

 

Please Note: Unfortunately due to the uncertainty of what would be allowed during the current COVID Pandemic, and taking into account social distancing, as well as the many months it takes in planning, we will not be able to present to you the 2021 Alpenfest Parade. The Alpenfest Committee apologizes, and we look forward to 2022 when we will be bringing our parade back bigger and better than ever.
