MARK FEDDER TO PRESENT AT BENZONIA ACADEMY LECTUR

Mark Fedder will present “Manistee: After the Lumber” on Thursday, October 11, 4:00 p.m. at the Benzie Area Historical Museum. The presentation will take a close look at how the City of Manistee had to reinvent itself in the 1910s and 1920s after its timber resources, the primary source of the area’s economy, was depleted. Mark Fedder is the director of the Manistee Historical Museum and was born and raised in Manistee. This presentation is part of the Benzie Area Historical Society’s Benzonia Academy Lecture Series. Tapping Workshop

The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center invites you to a Tapping Workshop Thursday, October 11th at 5:45pm. Tapping is a combination of ancient Chinese Acupressure and modern Neuroscience that is effective in easing anxiety and pain, and changing negative thought patterns. Join Marian Long, RN, MSN as she explores the art and science of Tapping, and how to use it for yourselves and others. You will learn a simple technique of tapping with your fingertips on specific meridian points while talking through emotions, thoughts or memories. Everyone is invited to join us for this free, helpful and informative experience! Come early before the workshop for a Shepherd’s Pie Dinner. Those 60 years of age and over dinner is a suggested donation of $3.00. Those under 60 the cost is $5.00. Cheboygan Senior Expo

Helping you Plan for the Future

The Commission on Aging & Senior Center is hosting a presentation for older adults and their caregivers to help them plan for the future. October 11th the topic is Medicaid; Just in Case. Join Todd Balkema of the Jordan Balkema Law Firm in Gaylord as he discusses issues surrounding the potential need to plan for receiving Medicaid if a person needs to enter a nursing home or who will be the spouse still living at home. Presentation will be held at the Nature Center in Grayling from 1pm-3pm.
