Medicare recipients may sometimes be confused about their Medicare benefits. Have you wondered how you can look up the various Medicare benefits? If you would like to learn how to “do it yourself,” then join Karl Schreiner and other MMAP counselors for a seminar on how to research Medicare benefits on Thursday, October 4th at 5:45pm at the Crawford County Commission on Aging. You will learn how to navigate the Medicare.gov page and how to set up a MyMedicare account which helps you keep track of your personal health information. Demonstration will be online and shown on our large-screen TV. 34th Annual Quilt Walk to benefit Hospice of Helping Hands October 4 - October 6th. Over 200 quilts will be on display throughout the town, participants start their “Walk” by picking up their “Passport Ticket Book”, for only a $5 donation, at 205 Craft Emporium, 205 Houghton Avenue, 4th Street Gallery on N. 4th Street, or Hospice of Helping Hands at 322 W. Houghton. With their passport ticket book purchase, they can relax and meander around the various locations at their convenience each day or all three days. The event runs from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday. Quilt Raffle Tickets for “The Reel Deal”, a 65” x 75” quilt, are on sale now for a steal at only three for $5 at 205 Craft Emporium – 205 W. Houghton Avenue, and Hospice of Helping Hands (322 W. Houghton Avenue (9 a – 4 p Monday-Friday). Raffle tickets will also be on sale at various locations around the area. The drawing will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, and supporters need not be present to win this beautiful quilt. All proceeds will be donated to our local non-profit Hospice of Helping Hands, Inc.
