July 20 & 21, 2018 is the 50th Annual Cadillac Festival of the Arts
Phyllis Olson Art Fair at Cadillac Commons City Park, Cadillac, Michigan.
The Festival includes fine art, live music, delicious food
Special activities will commemorate the 50th anniversary. On Thursday evening, participating artists can enjoy a hor d'oeuvres reception hosted by Brink’s Art & Frame Shop and the Art Festival Committee. Friday, the festivities begin earlier at 11 a.m. Artists will be judged on Friday this year so winners can be announced during the opening ceremony that evening. Music line-up will begin Friday at 6 pm with the Cadillac Symphony Orchestra. At 7:30, we’re thrilled to present the Saline Fiddlers, America’s premier youth fiddling show band from Saline, Michigan. The musicians will present an energetic and polished show that features a diverse range of music from American folk, fiddle, bluegrass, jazz, western swing, and Celtic traditions.

Lovells Satellite Meal on Friday, July 20th at 12:00pm at the Lovells Township Building. The lunch includes Beef Pot Roast, Red Skin Potato, Carrots, and a fresh Orange. Lunch is open to the public. We welcome everyone to the Star Party at the Betsie Valley District Library, July 20, 2018! Bob Moler will present a Twilight Talk at 8:30PM on the exploration of Mars! Bob will discuss the importance of the observation of Mars by amateur astronomers; review the satellites, landers and rovers of Mars and what they have found; the future of Mars exploration, including Elon Musk’s SpaceX plans of colonizing Mars; and the rover Opportunity’s discoveries on Mars. If weather permits, the GTAS will be setting up their telescopes to view Jupiter and the moon from 9:30 PM—11PM! If the weather becomes inclement, we will try and reschedule the telescope observation.
