JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENTS 6TH ANNUAL YOUTH SUMMIT FOR FUTURE ENTREPRENEURS, WHICH WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2018 AT THE HAGERTY CENTER IN TRAVERSE CITY FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 4:00 P.M. PARTICIPATION IN THE SUMMIT WILL INSPIRE YOUNG PEOPLE TO BUILD A FOUNDATION OF SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND INTEREST TO HELP THEM OWN THEIR ECONOMIC SUCCESS. The Crawford County Veteran’s Service Office will be hosting a coffee hour on the second Thursday of each month. The first meeting will take place at The American Legion Post #106 in Grayling, on March 8, 2018 from 9:00am-10:am. Coffee, tea, and doughnuts will be provided free of charge. This is an event for Veterans to meet and talk with each other, about anything that comes to mind. It will be held in a social setting with no formal speeches or agenda. A free estate planning seminar will be offered from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27 at Independence Village, located at 965 Hagar Street in Petoskey. A panel of speakers, Robert F. Boesiger, Attorney with Boesiger Law Firm, David Farley, Senior Vice President, Investments with Grannis Farley Wealth Management, and Andrea Cherry, Social Worker with McLaren Northern Michigan, will provide:
- Insights on the key elements of an estate plan
- Tips for keeping your plan current through personal legal changes
- Considerations when transferring assets to the people and causes that you care about
- Assistance to ensure that your wishes are known through the Advance Care Planning process

The Crawford County Community Garden is looking to revitalize the Community Garden in Grayling. The first step will be filling the volunteer position for a Community Garden Manager. The manager’s responsibilities will be to organize and facilitate the gardeners and resources, paying attention to the details of the garden while staying acquainted with opportunities in the surrounding community. Those who are interested in this opportunity and would like the full job description can go to www.crawfordcoa.org/volunteer or stop by the Commission on Aging and Senior Center and pick one up.
