July 20 & 21, 2018 is the 50th Annual Cadillac Festival of the Arts 

Phyllis Olson Art Fair at Cadillac Commons City Park, Cadillac, Michigan.

 

The Festival includes fine art, live music, delicious food

 

Special activities will commemorate the 50th anniversary. On Thursday evening, participating artists can enjoy a hor d'oeuvres reception hosted by Brink’s Art & Frame Shop and the Art Festival Committee. Friday, the festivities begin earlier at 11 a.m. Artists will be judged on Friday this year so winners can be announced during the opening ceremony that evening. Music line-up will begin Friday at 6 pm with the Cadillac Symphony Orchestra. At 7:30, we’re thrilled to present the Saline Fiddlers, America’s premier youth fiddling show band from Saline, Michigan. The musicians will present an energetic and polished show that features a diverse range of music from American folk, fiddle, bluegrass, jazz, western swing, and Celtic traditions.

Join the Presque Isle District Library for two amazing films celebrating our Great Lakes, one night only! Free and open to the public! "The Big Five Dive" Elizabeth Kaiser The Big Five Dive is an adventure documentary about a group of women attempting to dive one historic site in all five Great Lakes in under 24 hours, in an effort to raise awareness of women in SCUBA diving, a historically male-dominated sport and career. Set against the backdrop of some of the Great Lakes estimated 6,000 shipwrecks, this group of women show that there is a place for everyone underwater. (28 min) "Crossing Lake Huron" Corey Adkins Experience the white-knuckle thrill of three men attempting to cross Lake Huron from the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary to Tobermorey, Ontario on nothing but stand up paddle boards. This 90-mile open water crossing travels through Shipwreck Alley and some of the most treacherous waters in the world. This is their story and what makes their charity different from the rest.
