Looking for a volunteer opportunity? The Crawford County Commission on Aging is looking for a Volunteer Stock person to help with putting away food deliveries. This person would need to be available Monday and Thursday starting around 10:30am for approximately 2 hours and be able to lift up to 45lbs. A criminal background check is required. If you are interested, please contact Alice Snyder at 989-348-7123. The Crawford County Commission on Aging & Senior Center is located at 308 Lawndale St., Grayling.

 
  All Day 42nd annual Air Race Classic coming to Cadillac  
 The Air Race Classic (ARC), the all-women cross-country airplane race, will be coming to Cadillac on Thursday, June 21 and Friday, June 22. Fifty-five airplanes will execute high-speed flybys over a timing line at Wexford County Airport as teams race the clock on a four-day, 2,656-mile course from Sweetwater, Texas, to Fryeburg, Maine.
 
The 2018 ARC honors the 75th anniversary of the WASP, the Women’s Airforce Service Pilots, who flew for the military during World War II and trained in Sweetwater. Among the WASP were Michigan’s own Jane Doyle and Sue Parish. Sue founded the Kalamazoo Air Zoo, and her pink P-40 Warhawk hangs from the ceiling there.
 
Racers may land before going on to Newark, Ohio, and may stay overnight.

The AuSable Valley Engine & Tractor Club annual show is on June 22 and 23, 2018 (Friday & Saturday) at the lovely wooded Oscoda County Fairgrounds on Caldwell Road off of M33 between Mio and Fairview. Hours - 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Featuring tractor & machine exhibits, gas engines & related machinery, tractor & kids games with prizes, flea market, swap meet, craft vendors, tractor pulling, and tractor parade. One free ticket to each child 2 to 7 for a peddle tractor to be given away each day. All farm equipment exhibitors, flea market, craft and swap meet vendors are welcome and it is N/C to set up or exhibit even for non-members. Rustic camping is available. Some sites with electric.
