AuSable Media and the Kirtland Foundation are pleased to announce the upcoming

Premier Youth Artists Exhibit

This event is a youth art competition open to any high school student in the Crawford, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Roscommon, or Otsego Counties, including home-schooled students. The competition will be held April 20th and 21st, 2018, at the Kirtland Community College Grayling Campus.

****We invite you to come and meet Rebecca Lessard, Wildlife Rehabilitator and Educator, and the amazing Birds of The Wings of Wonder! You will have the opportunity for a close up look at these magnificent birds. Rebecca will outline the wonders of raptors, their habitat needs, environmental issues, endangered and threatened status, and wildlife ethics and wildlife stories. A hands-on display of raptor artifacts including wings, talons, feathers, pellets, and photos will also be available at the presentation. 28th Annual Children’s Health Fair

Petoskey, MI – For 28 years, northern Michigan community agencies have been participating in the McLaren Northern Michigan Children’s Health Fair. Taking place in April, the “Month of the Young Child,” this free education focuses on events and activities for newborns to 12 year olds.

Providing a fun family atmosphere, the Children’s Health Fair is an educational environment where parents can learn best practices to keep children healthy and safe. The event will be held from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 at the Petoskey Middle School, located at 801 Northmen Drive, off of Mitchell Street in Petoskey.

The event will have many activities for parents and children. The loveable snowman, Olaf, will be at the fair from 12:30 -1:30 p.m. Children should bring their capes for an “Action Hero Fun Run” outside (weather permitting), sponsored by the Child Abuse Prevention and Education Council. Other fun activities include crafts, face painting, hands-on learning activities and materials, as well as many prizes raffled off throughout the day. Bring a gently used book and take one home and participate in the Free Cycle BookBin Project.

There is a low-cost lunch available at the event for $3 each or $8 for the family.

  The Roscommon Area District Library are having a guest speaker Dafna Tachover.  She is an attorney

  in both New York and Israel with an MBA and founder and Managing Direcotr of "We Are The Evidence." an

  advocacy organization for protecting the rights of people who have been injured by wireless technology



  Come join them for a conversation with Dafna Tachover (who is featured in documentary GenerationZapped.

  screening at RADL 5/8) about the health implications of the new 5G technology and the Smart Grid.  Dafna

  will discuss the increasing levels of WiFi radiation in our biosphere, and its adverse impact on the health

  and well-being of humans, plants and animals.
