  All Day “Songs for Shelter”

Local Habitat-GTR Concert Event “Songs for Shelter” to Feature Oh Brother Big Sister and Turbo Pup at Central United Methodist Church

Traverse City MI – On the evening of March 9, music will fill the sanctuary of Central United Methodist Church, celebrating the accomplishments of the staff, volunteers and families of Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region.  The sweet sounds of two of the areas most recognized acts, Turbo Pup and Oh Brother Big Sister, will get toes-tapping and hands-clapping. Wendy Irvin, Director of Habitat for Humanity-GTR says, “We want to express gratitude to our community of supporters with a night of song. Without the dedication of our partner families, the assistance of area businesses, and the compassion of our volunteers, we would not be able to continue to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.”

The event, Songs for Shelter, will be offered free to the public, from 7-9pm. The program of the evening will be suitable for all ages, with the entrancing harmonies of Oh Brother Big Sister kicking off the evening, a special presentation from a Habitat-GTR family during the band exchange, and the americana rock of Turbo Pup capping off the night. Come to celebrate in song the gift of affordable housing being built each year the Grand Traverse community!

Habitat for Humanity-Grand Traverse Region was founded in 1986 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International.
