  8:00AM 5:00PM SAWW Chainsaw Safety Training Class  

 

 

  The Leelanau Conservation District is co-sponsoring a four-day chainsaw safety training program, January 24,25, February 22 and March 23.  The course will be tayught by SAWW Certified Trainer, Aaron Beishlag who has been a production logger of 26 years and has been working in the woods since he was a youth. 

 

  Inside classroom instruction will be held in the Community Room, Leelanau County Government Center, 8527 E. Government Center Drive, Suttons Bay with the field portion held at Myles Kimmerly Park, County Road 616, Maple City.

 

  Cost for the class is $500 for the full course.  The program is limited to 10 perticipants, so you must register and pay a portion of the fee by January 17th.  Remaining balance will be due by January 24th.

  The American Cancer Society is having a fundraiser at the Firefly Kitchen 7 Bars in Travers City

 

   They raise money for cancer patients for rides to treatment, wigs and head wraps lodging, and number of programs, services and research.
